Playa San Blas, La Libertad, is not only one of the best surf break in the world but is also one of the areas in El Salvador where there is a sea turtle hatchery and release program.
A very important beach, one of the least crowded in the La Libertad area, it gives the sea turtles opportunity to make their way on shore and lay their eggs.
It is a very small project with limited funding but it is a very important project for the sea turtles of El Salvador!

There is a hatchery located on the beach and baby sea turtles are released from September through to the end of December!
We can arrange a visit to the small hatchery and, if the season is right, we will be able to watch the release of hundreds of baby sea turtles!
